Since SMC Joint Venture incorporation its main activities were with the British Bases carrying out works for the Specialist Term Contract for all Mechanical & Electrical Works.  The Companies forming SMC JV Ltd are also shareholders of “Cyprus Service Provider (C.S.P J.V Ltd)” which is the successful ISP Contractor carrying out all works within the British Basis until 2011 with the option for a two year extension. 
 
SMC’s main activities are
• The execution of new installations
• Renovation and refurbishments of existing installations
• Provision of planned preventive
• Response and reactive maintenance (24 hours / 365 days).

SMC JV headquarters are located in Nicosia. Our site management and organization is carried out through our site offices in Akrotiri, Episkopi, Dhekelia, Ayios Nikolaos, Troodos, Larnaca, Limassol and BRS Nicosia. Each site maintains the necessary facilities, including stores areas, workshops and welfare facilities for all personnel located at each site.

Our extensive resources include approximately 450 personnel and a fleet numbering 185 vehicles and specialized tools and equipment.

The company is fully compliant with all UK and Cyprus republic legislation, including Health and Safety requirements. The company retains an extensive and updated training programme for all staff aiming in improving the technical skills, as well as their awareness on health and safety matters. The organization works to the standards of an integrated management system, which will eventually meet the requirements of

• OSHAS 18001 for Management of Occupational Health & Safety

The projects awarded to SMC Joint Venture include:
• Specialist Term Contract for the maintenance and repair of M&E and structural equipment (2004-2006) – value EUR 5.3m
• Refurbishment of the A/C system for the operating theatres at Akrotiri TPMH hospital (2005-2006) – Value EUR 1.3m
• Refurbishment of catering, retail and leisure facilities Sodexho (Cyprus) (2007-2008) – value EUR 5.6m
• Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) contract within all British bases in Cyprus (M&E element) 2006-2011. The contract includes:
o Operation, maintenance and repairs of M&E installations – Value EUR 62m
o Refurbishment of existing installations and new works – Anticipated value EUR 17.5m
• M&E works for the new built Single Living Accommodation project Episkopi/Akrotiri (2007-2011) – Value EUR 11.6m
• M&E works for the new built housing project (269 houses) at Akrotiri (2008-2015) – Value EUR 15.7m
• M&E works for two data centers at Episkopi (2008-2009) – Value EUR 3.2m
