Refrigerated Containers

Role of Equipment. The ISO Container Refrigerated is used for carrying of deep-frozen or refrigerated food products.

Body. The refrigerated container will provide an insulated and temperature controlled load compartment for the carriage of deep-frozen or refrigerated food. Rear doors to the container will give access to the load compartment. The container is to be colored white.

Container Construction.
External Size. The external size of the container is to be of the correct dimensions of a 20 foot ISO container.

Internal Capacity. The container is to comprise a single load compartment of liquid tight construction. The compartment is to be capable of carrying deep-frozen or refrigerated food products (but not both at the same time) and will be temperature controlled accordingly. The approximate compartment size is to be: Inside width: 2.00 metres / Inside height: 2.00 metres / Inside length: 4.00 metres

Container Construction. The container body sides, roof and front bulkhead are to be paneled with a thermally insulated sandwich material faced with suitably robust materials. All paneling is to comply with current EU Carriage of Food Regulations. The paneling is to be securely fastened to the body framing and all joints are to be capped and sealed with a non-toxic flexible compound.

Cargo Compartment Floor. The load compartment floor is to be flat throughout. The floor construction is to be of suitable thickness to carry the maximum load to be carried. The floor is to have a non-slip aluminium checker-plate metal surface and is to be completely sealed to the body sides using a non-toxic flexible compound.

Load Compartment Access. Access to the load compartment is to be by vertically split double rear doors with a minimum door height of 1.90m and minimum opining width of 2.20m. The rear door opening is to be centered in the rear face of the vehicle. The doors are to be insulated to the same standard as the body and fitted with seals designed to minimize loss of cooled air. All doors must be lockable and able to be securely fastened when in the open position.

Load Storage the container is to be fitted with 3 tiers of shelves on the full lengths of the end opposite the doors and on the side to the right of the doors. The shelves are to be 500 mm wide and rear edges folded up to a height of approximately 50 mm. The fronts of the shelves are to be supported by vertical supports running from floor to roof of the container at a minimum of 800 mm spacing. The supports are to be constructed of closed section stainless steel tubing.

Container Lighting. One vapor proof florescent light to be fitted to the interior of the roof along its longitudinal centerline. They are to be operated by a robust, door switch that shall be activated automatically when the door is open.

Cooling and Insulation System. The load compartment cooling system is to be capable of operation by a 3-phase electrical power system which must meet the applicable provisions of IEE Wiring Regulations 16th Edition. Stowage is to be provided for up to 10m of cable with EU standard waterproof mains power connectors. Temperature controllers and thermometers are to be provided on the outside of the container adjacent to the power system controls showing the selected and the actual internal temperature of the container roof. The cooling and insulation system must be capable of maintaining the following internal temperatures with an external ambient shade temperature of 43o C. When static and fully loaded after a period of 3 hours with no operation of the cooling system: minus 18o C.

Condensing Unit. Shall be second hand reconditioned 3 phases and semi hermetic complete with sight glass, filter dryer, high/low pressure control and solonoid valve. And shall be charged with ozone friendly refrigerant.

Control Powel. Shall have M.C.B. protecting each circuit, shall fitted with phase failure device. Defrost timer and change over switch to switch over from -18o C freezer to +4o C refrigerated.
