In a move to rationalise the supply chain, Interserve, with supply chain partner Cyprus Service Provider (CSP), was selected as Infrastructure Support Provider (ISP) for property management and capital works across seven military sites in Cyprus in May 2006. Covering an area of around 100 square miles, these sites include RAF Akrotiri and Episkopi Support Unit in the Western Sovereign Base Area and Dhekelia Garrison, the Ayios Nikolaos Station and their link road in the East.

This five year, island-wide service is worth around £30m per year and covers a diverse range of military facilities including airfields, communication facilities, accommodation, medical, leisure and administration centres.

The concept of one service provider is a fundamentally different approach to the previous arrangements in Cyprus. FM services used to be provided to British Forces using different contractors for each type of service. This step-change in service delivery reflects the UK Prime Contracting initiative, which offers Defence Estates better long term value for money through more efficient supply change management, economies of scale and collaborative working to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
